New PC

A few new end-of-financial year toys have made their way into my home last month. One of which is a new desktop PC to replace my four year old watercooled P4. The heatsink is massive, a few hurdles involved to make it fit on the DS4.
Gratuitous photos of the new system are available here

Hurdle #1:
The 8 pin EPS12v cable supplied with the Thermaltake Toughpower 750W is too short because the PSU is situated in the bottom of the Antec 900.
I had no luck sourcing an extension cable locally, so I was forced to extend it myself...
This old PSU has sacrificed its wires for the greater good...
Extending the EPS12v cable. 16 solder points in total.
The finished cable. In hindsight, I wish I purchased some cable sheath. Would have been a lot prettier.
A quick POST test of the system components with the newly extended cable. Thankfully, it boots.
Installation of the rediculously huge Tuniq Tower was actually not as bad as I thought it would be. Reaching the CPU thumbscrews between the Gigabyte's chipset cooling was fairly easy. My advice is to plug in the motherboard cable and CPU fan before installing into the case.

Another gratuitous Tuniq Tower shot
The Tuniq tower does fit, but only just. It does lightly touch the fins of the motherboard fins at this point.
Hurdle #2: The 120mm fan and fan bracket inside the Tuniq Tower does not fit perfectly - I had to raise it by a few millimeters to avoid it touching this part of the DS4's chipset cooler.
Miscellaneous shiny metal photo
Here you can see the fan bracket not sitting flush on the heatsink. There is a strip of thick foam in between to raise the fan up. The screws supplied are still long enough to securely fasten the bracket down.
The Tuniq Tower fits in the case - barely! It clears the case side by about 5mm. I'm not proud of my cable management. Something to work on in the future.
The completed system. I had to move the DVDRW to the second slot so that the SATA cables would reach the hard drives.
Close up shot of the HSF. It just clears the clear fan bracket on the case door. No room for a side fan.
Gratuitous light up shot. Each fan contains three blue LEDS which make the blade like patterns. I'm really going to have to replace the beige keyboard...
